Gardaí in Donegal have issued a warning after catching a Jeep driver with excessively worn tyres.

A motorist was stopped by the Donegal Roads Policing Unit recently and found to have tyres worn beyond the legal tread wear limit.

The driver was issued with a fine for the offence.

“If you drive on worn tyres you put your own and other road users lives at risk. Please check and replace worn tyres,” Gardaí warned.

Excessively worn tyres have dangerous risks as they affect braking and road grip.
