The first Portsalon Winter Links takes place this Saturday 20th October. Timesheet filling up fast, open to members and visitors alike, call the shop on 074 91 59459 to reserve a tee-time.
Captain’s Outing
Mick McGlynn’s year in office is drawing towards a close and one of the more easy-going task for the Captain took place on Saturday and Sunday, with the Captain’s Outing taking place at Strand Hill and Rosses Point golf club’s in Sligo. The weather wreaked havoc on Saturday, all but putting an end to the playing hopes of many. Sunday’s was much more like it however and Gareth McLarnon came away with top prize, winning the 2018 Captain’s Outing. Thanks to vice-captain Pat for arranging an excellent road trip on two of Connaught’s finest links’ tracks.
Ladies
The Sunday Members competition was played in glorious weather after the torrential rains of the previous day. The winner was Pamela Clinton-McDermott (17) with 37pts and CSS was 73.
The next Winter Links competition is on Thursday 25th October. As always we look forward to a good turnout of visitors along with our members.
Our Sunday Members’ competition continues as usual 21st October with the previous Friday the alternate day. The Turkey competition is on-going.
