King of Tory to be flown to island for funeral mass this Thursday

The funeral of the King of Tory Island, Patsy Dan Rodgers, will take place on his beloved island this Thursday.

Mr Rodgers, who was 74, passed away at Dublin’s Mater Hospital on Friday evening last.

Mr Rodger’s remains will be removed from Dublin tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9am going to Christ the King Church, Gortahork for Rosary at approximately 3.00pm.

He will then be taken to Carrickfinn Airport for removal to Tory Island at 5pm.

His burial will take place on Thursday after 12.30pm mass.

Mr Rodgers is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughters Breda, Majella, Christina and son Sean, son-in-law Daniel and two grandchildren Dean and Fionn.
