Annual Remembrance 10k to take place next month

A 10k event, the Remembrance 10k, to provide an opportunity to those who wish to run/walk in memory of those who have passed away or indeed are presently suffering will be held once on November 18th.

November historically and traditionally is a period which we in Ireland, indeed internationally, have set aside to remember loved ones that have died.

The thinking is clearly an attempt to remember to do something meaningful to raise funds for a relevant charity of ones choice or alternatively just sign the white boards, a wall of Remembrance, in memory of.

Registration is 10 euro each or 25 euro for a family of four.

The venue and race/walk route is from the Finn Valley Centre,Stranorlar with a start time of 11 am.

Pre registration is by dropping in to Finn Valley Centre any day or simply enter on the day.

The course, which is fast and flat, takes in the scenic surrounds of Drumboe Forest returning to Ballybofey via Glenfin Road to finish on the Valley track.

In addition to the money raised for charity which is an individual/family decision the registration fee goes towards underage athletics to support same and purchase sportshall equipment.

Additionally a contribution will be made to Blood Bikes North West.

In a way its a link with the past and supporting the future  a novel social event with encouragement to family groups to come along run, walk, jog. Refreshments of course afterwards.
