Thousands flock to the northwest’s largest ever Careers Fair – Picture Special

The annual LYIT Careers and Postgraduate Studies Fair was another record-breaking success this year as thousands of ambitious people and recruiters turned out for the event.

There was a huge demand by recruiters to attend the annual event, which took place on Monday 22nd October and became the biggest ever Careers event in the Northwest.

This year in excess of 90 exhibitors from all sectors including construction, design, IT, business, finance, mechanical engineering attended to name but a few.

Local and national companies were in attendance with an estimated 2.5k jobs on offer on the day ranging from apps developer to food scientist.

Also in attendance were a broad selection of post-graduate course providers from Ireland and UK offering a wide range of study options in areas such as BioScience, teaching, Human Rights Law and languages that can be studied in a variety of ways including part-time, online, blended learning as well as full- time.

Professional bodies were in abundance offering advice on professions such as accountancy, teaching, engineering, built environment and surveying.

Commenting on the event, LYIT Careers Officer Catherine Lyster said, “This year was our largest event ever, a sure sign that the economy is picking up in all sectors. We were delighted to see such a broad range of exhibitors and we look forward to an equally large event for 2019”.
