Pupils of Little Angels Special School in Letterkenny recently welcomed a visit from Dr Niall Muldoon, the Ombudsman for Children.

The visit on Wednesday 17th October was an opportunity for the children and staff to highlight their work in raising awareness of the rights of the child.

Dr Niall Muldoon, Ombudsman for Children, visits Little Angels Special School

Dr Muldoon met with the student council and was shown around the school by head boy Paul McFadden.

The Ombudsman visited classrooms, looked at the students’ wonderful displays and was shown their video presentation on children’s’ rights.

The children had put in many hours of work into an innovative and creative rights awareness campaign with their drama teacher, Ms Patricia Doherty.  Their production was very well received by Dr. Muldoon.

Little Angels School believe in the importance of raising awareness of the rights of the child and try to instil that awareness in their students.
