Cockhill Celtic manager Gavin Cullen described Laurence Toland as ‘different gravy’ after his winner against Bonagee United this afternoon.
Toland – the hero for Cockhill in both the League play-off and League Cup final last season – had missed the opening weeks of the season with an injury, but is back on track again.
“Laurence has been unbelievable,” Cullen said.
“I always knew his quality, but he’s gone up another level. He’s different gravy. When he’s fit and playing, there’s no better centre forward in the League. He has worked hard to get himself back.”
Bonagee made Cockhill fight all the way, but Toland’s goal was priceless.
Cullen added: “It’s a fantastic result off the back of a bad result last week. We had to win our battles and we know Bonagee are a different animal this year. We knew it would be a tight game, but we’re delighted to get the result and the clean sheet.”
