Oliver Doherty & Mickey took top place in Winter League Table at the weekend as they saw off formidable opposition to take the position.

The fourth round of the Owen McDaid (Roe) Mini Bus & Taxi Hire Winter League took place last weekend and the format was a scramble.

The pairing of Fiáchra O’ Flaherty & Martin Doherty shot another very impressive scramble score of 44 pts to take the weekly prize. This is the second winning score in the scramble format for O’ Flaherty & Doherty and they have now established themselves as formidable opponents for any pairings in the match play stages.

The overall leaders are now Oliver Doherty and Mickey Mc Cann with 172 pts and their nearest challengers are the Saturday pairing of Seamus & Niall Mc Laughlin sitting on 161 pts.

If Doherty and McCann can carry this form over to the next match play they will fancy their chances of winning the Winter League title.

The format this weekend will be betterball and with only two weeks left in the qualifying stages a lot of teams will be seeking a vast improvement in form if they wish to make the top 22 qualifying positions.

Qualifying for Christmas Hamper

The qualifying for the Christmas Hamper has now commenced and the entrance fee is €4.00 with the re-entry €2.00.

Qualifying for 0-6 players will take 20 pts and for the 7 upward players, it will take 21 pts. With only 4 more weeks left of qualifying, there are only 9 players qualified for the Christmas Hamper.

Find the Joker Fundraising

The “Find the Joker” is up and running again with a Jackpot of €875.00, lines only cost €2 each and this draw is open to members and non-members alike. Lines can be purchased in the clubhouse or through chief seller Oliver Doherty.
