Gary Duffy has been reappointed as Donegal U17 manager for the 2019 season.

The Buncrana clubman was ratified at tonight’s meeting of the Donegal county committee.

Duffy had previously been Donegal U16 manager before taking the reigns of the U17s for 2018.

They reached the Jim McGuigan Cup final, losing out to Monaghan in the final 2-21 to 1-12.

In the Ulster Minor Championship, Donegal were hammered 5-12 to 1-10 by Tyrone in Ballybofey.

After that game, Duffy dispensed with the services of Ballyshannon man Shane Ward, who had been a coach on the backroom team.

Donegal then lost out to Monaghan 1-12 to 1-10 in a qualifier.

Duffy said he would take some time to ‘clear his head’ before deciding whether to run again and the Inishowen man has been given the green light to go again.
