Johnny Dunleavy is set to leave Cork City, Rebels boss John Caulfield has confirmed.

The 27-year-old Ballybofey man has been troubled by injury during his time on Leeside.

Dunleavy has undergone four knee operations, the latest of them the result an ACL injury picked up in June 2017, which kept him out for 14 months.

Dunleavy has been at Cork since 2012 and was made club captain by Caulfield.

“We’ve all great fondness for Johnny,” the Cork manager said on Red FM.

“I made him captain when I took over. Unfortunately he has has a hard time with injuries. He’s going to move on. We wish him well because he’s a brilliant guy.”

It is expected that Dunleavy will put pen to paper with a club in Dublin.
