Eight Donegal firefighters honoured for 260 years service

Eight Donegal Fire Fighters were today honoured with Long Service Medals for serving their county for approximately 260 years between them in total.

Two of the firefighters, James Mc Kenna from Buncrana and Robert Smyth from Carndonagh received a specially commissioned medal for giving over 40 years Service to Donegal Fire Service .

The other 6 Firefighters receiving their medals are Hugh Doherty from Glenties, Sean Connaughton from Glenties, Conal Mc Devitt from Glenties, Brian Breslin from Carndonagh, Seamus Mc Laughlin from Carndonagh and Paul Kelly from Bundoran.

This unique occasion was attended by officials and dignitaries from different Government departments.
