Creative writing competition success for Crana College

Students from Crana College in Buncrana enjoyed great success in this year’s Allingham Arts Festival Writing Competition.

A number of pupils scooped awards in the Secondary Schools Fiction and Poetry competitions, proving that the future of literature and poetry is bright in Donegal

The Allingham Arts Festival is a community arts festival which takes place in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, each November, in honour of the poet William Allingham.

Students from Crana College scooped 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Under 13 poetry competition.

Pictured below, left to right are tutor Ms Rosaleen O Donnell with 1E students Orla Grant 3rd Prize, Joshua Mullins 2nd Prize, Sophia Brock, Ist Prize with their English teacher, Ms Sylvia McSheffrey.

1E student Isabel Gomez Jover came runner-up in the prestigious Allingham Arts Festival Under 13 Short Story competition. She is pictured below with her class tutor Ms Rosaleen O Donnell (left) and her English teacher, Ms Sylvia McSheffrey.
