Termon GAA Club has been invited to take part in the 2019 Continental Youth Championships in Philadelphia next summer.

The CYC is a Gaelic Games Tournament that takes place on an annual basis in the United States and is the biggest tournament of Gaelic sports outside of Ireland.

Each year up to 2,500 children aged U6 to U18 participate in the tournament with hundreds of games organised over the course of the four-day tournament.

Termon will be the only Irish team representing the GAA in the USA, and this is due to their phenomenal success in recent years.

“It is such an honour and a privilege for a team from our club to be invited,” Termon U16 manager Trevor Alcorn said.

“I know everyone of these 23 boys have given everything they can to their training & are committed to our heritage sport, the GAA.

“Our Club have been so supportive of this trip and we will take these lads to represent Termon GAA and their parishes proudly.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support and we look forward to putting Termon and Donegal on the map in the States. It is a dream come true for us all.”

They have since U13, won division 1 league finals, U13 County Championship, U14 Division 1 League final & runners up in the U14 County Championships, Under 14 All Ireland Féile Division 1 finalists and this year they won U16 Division 1 League finals and U16 Division 1 County Champions.

These young talented Gaelic players are following in the footsteps of All-Ireland winning and county cinning titles from club players before them.

These group of grounded & dedicated young lads will play All-Star teams from all over America & North America in this 4 day tournament and are looking forward to representing their club on a global scale. St Eunan’s GAA Boys & Girls have also represented Donegal in previous years at the same event.

Termon GAA Club would like to thank Croke Park and the Continental Youth Championship organisers sincerely for the invite and we look forward to meeting Irish from all over America and North America at this four-day tournament.

The U16 boys travelling to the 2019 Continental Youth Championships in Philadelphia next July are : Lorcan Callaghan, Cormac Diver, Mark Toye, Conor Black, Conor Cassidy,  Eoin Boyle, Oisin Forde, Jamie Grant, Michael Trearty, Stephen Black, Marty Steel, Brian McGettigan, Jack Alcorn, Luke McGarvey,  Bobby McGettigan,  Aaron Reid,  Emmett Maguire, Aaron Gallagher, Kevin McGettigan, Manus O’Connell,  Blake Boal, Patrick McDaid and Mark Gallagher.
