Connor Gormley admits the doubts swam through his mind as he stepped up to hit a crucial penalty in today’s U21 B final replay.

The Milford ace netted a penalty in the first minute of the second half to help the Moyle View men edge a gripping contest.

“I was nervous going up to hit the penalty,” said Gormley, who scored 1-2 for his team.

“Having missed my last one, I was nervous. I was happy to see it hit the back of the net.

“We knew if we dug deep and got together we wouldn’t be far away.”

Milford trailed by five points at the break, but shook the air in the dressing room at half-time.

Gormley said: “I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t great.

“We went right at it. We rallied again in the second half.”
