Letterkenny crowned Ireland’s Most Enterprising Town

The Letterkenny Chamber has won the overall title in the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Awards 2018.

The awards were announced last night at The Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny.

It was three out of three for Letterkenny, as the town won trophies in the Regional, National and Overall categories.

The Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards recognises and rewards towns and villages where businesses communities come together to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their local area.

The total prize fund is €157,000. As the overall winner, Letterkenny receives a cash prize totalling €33,000.

Letterkenny beat off competition from 90 other towns and cities to take the title. Buncrana, Dungloe, and Donegal Town were also in the running for awards.

The Enterprise Towns awards were presented by Minister for Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform Pascal Donohoe, who commended Letterkenny on their win and commented on the fantastic community spirit shown by participating towns and villages.
