Did you ever work in the Donegal Oil Company and longed to meet up with former colleagues?

Well, the good news is that the company are now holding a reunion.

The idea was sparked when a few former colleagues met up informally for a night out.

Former employee Mary Diver takes up the story.

“Well two weeks have passed since I met up with a few ex-colleagues from Donegal Oil, we reminisced about our time working there. I had planned to stay for an hour or two needless to say I arrived home 2am.

“We chatted and laughed about our working life in Donegal Oil, there were good days and a few less good days, we worked hard and played hard on the staff outings and many nights out. (I have some photographic evidence!!)

“Some even met their lifetime partners while working there. We remembered fondly colleagues who have since passed away.  I think we all agreed to have worked there certainly gave us good training and foundation for those of us to moved to new jobs.”

Mary has now agreed to organise a reunion of ex-staff from Donegal Oil.

Mary says this is anyone who happens to remember the famous Shell Pectin sign!

She adds “I worked in the office from 1986 till 2001 and If I sent any of you to the hardware shops nearby for long corner stands during your first days working in the office ah I’m sorry!

“So if you, your mother, father, sister, brother, granny or granda or anyone you know has worked in Donegal Oil in the past would like to meet up for a catch up please send me a message so we can gauge the interest out there.

“If you have any photos we’d love to borrow them to copy and promise we’ll return them to you.
So you wish to attend save this date Saturday 2nd Mar 2019 – venue Silver Tassie Hotel, Ramelton Road, Letterkenny 3 Course Dinner €25 must be paid in advance.”

For further information please contact Mary on 086 417 1932, Martina 086 621 9255 or Louise 087 691 2040 know.
