Seamus Sharkey has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Irish League Premier Division side Glenavon.

The 28-year-old centre-back left Sligo Rovers after two years at the Showgrounds and has linked up with the third-placed team in the Irish League.

Glenavon drew 3-3 with Institute this afternoon and boss Gary Hamilton confirmed the addition of Sharkey.

“I’m delighted to get Seamus at the club and with his experience in the League of Ireland, he’s a good player who should bring a bit of experience and add to us in January when he’s available to play,” Gary told Glenavon’s club website.
