Social media was in overdrive in Gaoth Dobhair today after Mervyn O’Donnell’s team secured the club’s first ever Ulster Club SFC crown.

Their 0-13 to 0-12 win over Scotstown was earned after a titanic tussle in Omagh.

The world of Twitter was gushing in praise of Gaoth Dobhair.

Here’s a selection of tweets.

There won’t be a child washed in Gaoth Dobhair for a week well done to everyone involved @gaothdobhairclg hope Cronan Mac isn’t driving the team bus today 😉

Gaoth Dobhair and Scotstown had the perfect, essential, mix of seasoned men and youth. But Cassidy as a target man and the wizardry of Mac Naillais was something Scotstown didn’t have. 1/2

Odhrán Mac Niallais has been unbelievable! Donegal club football really moving!

What a story!! There will be some Monday club in Donegal tomorrow!! Fantastic scenes! Odhrán Mac Niallais a rolls royce! TG4 must be buzzing #AnGhaeilge #GaothDobhair

Kevin Cassidy is a class act. Big call for a foul on him in the last play of game which would have won it and he’s the 1st man over to protect the ref from his teammates and selectors after!

Kevin Cassidy interviewed on the pitch 40 seconds after the final whistle. The beauty of radio. He can hardly speak but the importance of today comes across clearly “Stuff of Dreams” he says. Perfect.

Kevin Cassidy showing unreal leadership today for his team. Great game in fairness after football taking a lot of stick as last lot of months. #UlsterClubFinal 🏐🏆

While it tough on scotstown it’s hard to beat winning with your club when you see what it means to Kevin Cassidy delighted for him and he had some game as well only 1 mistake got kicked blocked otherwise never put a foot wrong used all his experience even in adversity end of game
