The election of officers at Thursday night’s Donegal GAA County Convention will be a low-key affair with most people retaining their portfolios unopposed.
Only the outgoing PRO, Ed Byrne, has to vacate his post having served a five-year term.
Disappointingly, there are no nominees to fill the position heading into the Convention and it could be the next meeting of the county committee, scheduled for January, before a successor is appointed.
Byrne, though, could remain on the County Board as the Killybegs clubman is nominated for one of the Ulster Council representative positions.
Outgoing officers PJ McGowan and Liam McElhinney are nominated again as is St Mary’s, Convoy clubman Brendan Kelly – who is also nominated alongside the incumbent, Paddy Tinney, for assistant treasurer.
Chairman Mick McGrath, Vice Chairman Frankie Doherty, Secretary Aideen Gillen, Assistant Secretary Declan Martin, Treasurer Alan Boyd, Oifigeach Gaeilge agus Cultuir Fergus McGee, Coaching Officer Conor McDermott and Central Council representative Seamus O Domhnaill will all be returned unopposed.
The 2018 Convention takes place at the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town, on Thursday night.
