The N15 at Barnesmore Gap has been reopened to traffic this lunchtime following last night’s fatal crash.

A 27-year-old man died when his van collided with a vacant house at Cashelnavene, Ballybofey, at around 11.15pm on Monday night.

The man, who is from Killybegs, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his remains have been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital.

The road was closed during the night and the following morning as gardaí investigated the incident.

The road is now reopened to traffic, but delays are still expected. Temporary traffic lights are in place in the area until further notice.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who was travelling in the area between 10.30pm and 11.30pm last night to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100.
