The Glen Parish Council hosted the annual switching on of the Christmas lights in Cashel village on Saturday, December 8.

The honour of switching on the lights went to Alex Cunnea, Daniel Cunningham, Cian McGinley, and Fearghaill Ó Gardhra of the Scoil Naisiunta An Chaiseal, who pipped the five-times-winning-team to become County Donegal Cumann na mBunscoille quiz champions 2018; a first for their school.

They will now go on to represent the County in the Ulster final in Monaghan in March of 2019.

Glen Parish Council would like to thank local singer/songwriter Eunan McIntyre who provided music for the occasion and to Thomas Ellis of Donegal Bees who provided the shelter for the event; their generosity towards the community is greatly appreciated.
