Letterkenny Athletic Club runner, Annmarie McGlynn, was in action on Sunday in the SPAR European Cross Country Championships.

Annmarie mixed it with the elite of European distance runners in the event, which took place in Tilburg, in the Netherlands.
She had an excellent run and was 4th of the 6 Irish runners.  Annmarie helped the Irish team to a very creditable 11th place in the team event. Sara Treacy was the first Irish counter. The race winner was Turkish athlete, Can Yasemin.
Paul McFadden was the leading Letterkenny AC runner in Saturday’s Letterkenny Parkrun. He was a top 10 finisher and 3rd in the M40 category in a time of 21.47. Young Ryan Bradley was 2nd in the  JM11-14 age group in 27.04. Mark Connolly was the winner in 20.08.
Letterkenny Athletic Club would like to offer condolences to club coach, Teresa McDaid and the Cullen family, following the death of their father, Leo Cullen. Condolences are also offered to son in law, Brendan McDaid, and granddaughter, Niamh.
Like Teresa, Leo was a Letterkenny Athletic Club stalwart,  who gave generously of his time to assist the club in a wide range of roles, particularly in the club’s formative years.
He was heavily involved in the arrangements pertaining to the construction of the club’ss athletic track. He was also a valued member of the LAC committee, from its early days in 1972. He performed a wide variety of functions on the committee.
