The Muff Liquor Company has today secured Business All-Star Accreditation from the All Ireland Business Foundation.
The quality mark is in recognition of the Donegal-based craft drinks company’s success with its premium craft potato gin that has taken the Irish and UK gin markets by storm since its launch last year.
This month has also seen the launch of Muff Vodka – a new premium spirit that will be widely available in the New Year.
The Muff Liquor Company is the brainchild of Inishowen-born entrepreneur Laura Bonner and her business partner Tom Russell from Manchester.
Since its inception back in February 2017, the company’s specialist distilled spirit has caught the imagination and taste buds of novice and seasoned gin drinkers alike, thanks to their inventive take on a classic distilled gin.
A year-on and the company has secured the highly prestigious Business All Star accolade from the All Ireland Business Foundation, the national body responsible for identifying and accrediting Best-in-Class Irish businesses as Business All-Stars.
The Business All-Star accreditation is awarded to progressive indigenous Irish businesses that meet the highest standards of verified performance, trust and customer centricity.
Laura Bonner, speaking after the awards ceremony in Croke Park, said she was delighted at achieving the accolade.
She said: “This is a huge stamp of approval from the industry in our product and in our company. It is hugely significant for the company and a credit to the hard work and commitment shown by the company and our staff in promoting this exciting new craft gin product.
“We are confident that this accreditation will help in making our brand and product widely recognised. The accreditation also allows us to avail of opportunities to engage in peer-dialogue, collaboration and networking opportunities.
“It’s a great way for us not only to build credibility and gain trust but also to raise the profile of our business and our unique products.”
The accreditation is just one of a number of prestigious accolades secured by the company. Earlier this year the Muff Liquor Company won Gold in the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America Exposition in Las Vegas and were Gold winners in the Asia Gin Masters held in Hong Kong in October. Keen to expand the company and enter new regions including South East Asia and Australia, China, Hong Kong and Japan, the company has appointed a brand ambassador and operations manager.
Craft gin continues to enjoy an unexpected resurgence in the last number of years and The Muff Liquor Company is delighted at their continued success with Muff Gin having secured distribution across Ireland and the UK and expanding their workforce further to include a business development manager and a number of sales representatives.
In addition to the craft gin product, Muff Vodka has been released with a series of launch and tasting events across the island of Ireland including Dublin Airport.
Business co-owner Tom Russell says Muff Liquor Company is hugely excited about expanding its business further and is confident the creation of the Muff Vodka further enhances the company’s original brand, unique identity and experiential, personalised and fun reputation.
He said: “We have been overwhelmed with our success to date and the response to our products. We are really tapping into the “cocktail culture”, that is inspired by programmes such as ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Suits’ for example, and building on our unique taste and brand to create a special and personal vibe.
“We are really passionate about our brand and think it’s got a healthy mix of heritage and playfulness, and are delighted that in addition to our gin our Muff Vodka is ready for the market. We want to thank everyone for their support so far and reassure them that there is loads to be excited about and we hope they like what we have to offer!”
