Gardaí appeal for witnesses in arson attack investigation

Gardaí in Milford are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a malicious arson attack on a young family’s future home.

An unoccupied home which was under construction in Ballykeeran, Kilmacrennan was torched on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

The building was severely damaged in the blaze. It took four units of the Donegal Fire Service to extinguish the flames.

Gardaí have said the attack was a serious incident of Criminal Damage.

The authorities appealing for information from any person who was in the area between 12 midnight and 4am on Sunday morning the 16th of December.

A Garda spokesperson said: “You may have seen a car/van parked somewhere unusual? Perhaps, you have Dashcam footage that may assist in the investigation or Do you have CCTV that could assist?

“Saturday night/Sunday morning was a busy time on the roads with Christmas parties etc. and you may have seen something that stood out?

“Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Milford Garda station on 074 915 3060 or the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111”
