Popular bus driver Jamesie Doherty is to be given a fitting tribute by the community which held him in such high regard.

Members of Glenswilly GAA Club will form a guard of honour for Jamesie who will be buried followed his funeral mass in Glendowan today.

Jamesie, who operated James Doherty Bus Hire of Keelogs, Churchill, will be remembered by hundreds of people whose lives he touched down through the years through his work.

The high esteem and respect in which he was held was reflected in the huge numbers of people who called to the family home for his way over the past couple of days.

His smile and salute to fellow motorists on the highways and byways of Donegal will now be sadly missed.

Jamesie passed away at the Donegal Hospice after a recent illness.

His Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Colmcille’s Church, Glendowan at 12 noon today followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery.

Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife and children at this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Jamesie.
