A Donegal family has kindly donated over €6,650 to two hospitals which helped them during a difficult time.
James Melly and his family from Lettermacaward raised the money at an event to show their gratitude for the care he received at University Hospital Galway and Letterkenny University Hospital three years ago.
The family organised musical evening featuring Galway band, Old Trusty, to bring the community together for a great cause.
James and Mary’s son is a member of the band and in total they raised €6,650 which was donated and shared between UHG and LUH.
James Melly and his wife Mary recently visited University Hospital Galway and presented a cheque for €3,325 to the Claddagh Ward Patient Comfort Fund.
James had been a patient at the hospital in 2015, where he received chemotherapy.
