Raphoe ABC’s European bronze medallist Leah Gallen has been selected to box for Ireland in an international later this month.
Gallen – pictured with Peter O’Donnell – will feature in the international tournament against England in Bristol on Saturday, January 26.
The Raphoe welter is a three-time Irish champion, who scooped two Irish titles in 2018 and went on to win bronze at the European Junior Championships in Anapa.
Gallen made her debut in an Irish vest at those championships, beating Finja Bree in her opening bout to get onto the podium. Gallen subsequently suffered a narrow loss against Italy’s Miriam Tomasone.
Previously, Gallen beat Keisha Attwell to win the Irish Girl 5 title and overcame Sophia Hopkova to collect the Irish Senior Cadet crown.
