Friends set up fund to help children of Kevin McElhinney

Devastated friends of Kevin McElhinney have set up a GoFundMe Page to look after his two youngest children.

The father of four, 41, was tragically killed following a tree-cutting accident in Carndonagh, on Friday last.

Now friends have come together in order to help extend the needs of Kevin’s two youngest children.

After just a day, the friends have managed to raise almost €40,000, with generous donations coming in regularly.

The friends said: “We realise that there is nothing that can be said or done to take away the pain of losing a cherished father, partner, brother and friend.

“However, we hope that with the help and generosity of the people, we can slightly ease the financial pressure on the family at the moment and to build a suitable extension for the needs of the two youngest children.

“Kevin has four beautiful sons and a precious daughter. All donations will go directly to the much-needed extension for Kevin’s two youngest children Lucy and Timothy.”

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the fund can do so here.
