The residents of Muff have been invited to a public meeting to discuss a possible increase in Muff-Buncrana bus services.
A meeting with Local Link has been arranged by Inishowen Sinn Féin Councillor, Jack Murray, to highlight the needs of local residents. The meeting will take place on Tueday 5th February at 7.30pm.
Speaking in advance of the meeting, Cllr Murray said; “I have been contacted by several residents in Muff who need to regularly travel to Buncrana but do not have access to a car.
“Elderly people in particular need to access the doctors in Buncrana and find it difficult to do so. Teenagers and young people who go to school or socialise in Buncrana are also affected as they are limited in their ability to travel to Inishowen’s largest town without school transport or lifts from parents.
“Currently the only public route from Muff to Buncrana is Local Link’s Redcastle-Buncrana service on a Friday.
“I have been in contact with Local Link regarding this issue and they have been receptive to the idea of increasing the service. I am delighted that they are happy to hear the concerns of local residents and discuss the issue in person with them.
“Local Link provides a vital service to rural communities in Inishowen and I’m delighted that they’ve agreed to come along to discuss how it can be further improved.
“The meeting is open to all members of the public so I’d ask anyone who’d like to see the service extended to join us and have your say.”
