Donegal County Council has this evening (Sat) issued an urgent warning to motorists over icy conditions.
The council says it has received reports of slippy conditions and ice forming on untreated roads.
And although many primary routes have been gritted since today, there are other roads which have not.
A council spokesperson warned “Our gritters have been out since early this evening but extra care is needed on all roads especially on local roads that are not treated. Please assume no road is ice-free.”
Met Eireann has warned that with temperatures set to plunge overnight, icy conditions will continue throughout tomorrow.
