Andy McEntee says Meath’s players were ‘suffering’ last night after they were beaten by Donegal in Ballybofey.
Having led for much of the way, the night unravelled for Meath in the closing stages.

“Robbed is probably the wrong word,” reflected a clearly disappointed McEntee.
“The truth of the matter is we played the majority of the football for the majority of the game, but unless you see it through, you suffer. Fellas are certainly suffering in there.”
Meath hit four quick-fire points early in the second half to take control and they remained firmly in the driving seat until McGonagle planted the seeds of doubt with a 59th minute goal.
McEntee said: “We were there, four up with 15 minutes left on the clock and we looked comfortable. We switched off and once you lose momentum in games like this, it’s very hard to get it back.
“There were a lot of positives to be taken. We did a lot of things really well. We just didn’t finish the job.”
Meath had won on the opening day, against Tipperary, while Donegal had also claimed a win last weekend, defeating Clare in Ennis.
Donegal will be top of Division 2 as they head for Thurles to take on Tipperary on Sunday-week, while McEntee insists the defeat – even at this early stage – has cranked up the pressure.
He said: “It’s not terminal but it’s a serious enough wound. When you drop points in this League, the next game is a pressure game.
“The difference in having four points on board and having two is huge. The pressure is on us now next week.”
