A kind-hearted family’s Christmas Day swim in Donegal has raised almost €4,000 for two cancer care and support centres.

Owen and Kevin Brady from Derry, along with over 40 members of their friends and family, took part in an annual swim at Lisfannon beach in Buncrana last December.

The event raised £3,372 (approx €3,848), which was kindly donated by the family to show appreciation for the treatment and care given to their mother, Cathy Warwick.

The North West Cancer Centre (NWCC) at Altnagelvin Hospital received a donation of £1,592, with a certain amount was also donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Brady Family donation to NWCC Altnagelvin Hospital: Accepting the cheque is Nichola O’Kane, Ward 50 Ward Manager and NWCC Staff, John McDonald, James Taylor Feeny and Jennifer McLaughlin.
