Positive progress made in push for Muff-Buncrana bus service

A ‘constructive and extremely positive’ meeting has concluded about public transport between Muff and Buncrana.

Councillor, Jack Murray, praised Local Link for putting funding together to create an application to fund
a public service route from Muff to Buncrana.

Cllr Murray said: “I want to thank everyone who came to our meeting on public transport in Muff on Tuesday.

“The meeting was constructive and extremely positive. I’m delighted that Local Link agreed to create an application to fund a public service route from Muff to Buncrana (to run 3 times a day on 3 days of the week).

“Obviously the section of the route from Burnfoot is already extremely well serviced locally so the focus for Local Link will be solely on the village of Muff and areas which do not already have access to public transport to Buncrana.

“Local Link took the concerns of all those present on board and will propose a timetable which suits those going to the doctors, going shopping and local students staying late after school for extra-curricular activity.

“They also agreed to revert back to me in 2-3 weeks when the application is finalised.

“We’ll then call another meeting to consult with the community.”
