Chloe Magee says the Irish team is relishing next week’s European Mixed Team Championships in Copenhagen.

Ireland won group 7 of the qualifying phase and Magee and co are set to play against the best the continent has to offer.

Ireland face Germany, England and Russia from next Wednesday.

“It is going to be a tough tournament for us, we have three very tough matches,” Magee said.

“It does not matter what players the countries we are playing against put out, they are all quality players.

“They have big squads and train at top of the range high-performance centres each day, so it is going to be difficult. But we will just go out there to give everything that we have got.”

Magee and her brother Sam won the mixed doubles at the Irish Nationals last weekend and is looking forward to representing Ireland again.

She said: “It is really nice that we are able to play for the flag and represent the country as a whole group.

“It is a really good feeling, and nice that every so often we get to do this and perform in a team event.”

Chloe Magee was speaking to Badminton Europe.
