**UPDATE** Tree has been removed and the road is open again
The high winds of Storm Erik are causing hazards on the roads in Donegal this Friday morning.
The road at Cashelard, Ballyshannon is closed due to a fallen tree on Eircom lines.
The blockage occurred on the L-2365-2 road approximately 1.3km beyond the Cashelard cross roads on route to McNulty’s quarry.
Donegal County Council has advised that local diversions are being erected and will remain in place until such time as the tree can be safely removed.
ESB Networks has issued the following warning: “If you come across fallen trees be aware that there may be fallen wires. Please DO NOT APPROACH as the wires could be live and would be extremely dangerous. Please stay clear and phone ESB Networks immediately on 1850 372 999 , 021 238 2410”
