GAA announce referees for All-Ireland club semi-finals

The GAA have confirmed the referees for Saturday’s AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Championship semi-finals.

Experienced Laois whistler Maurice Deegan will take charge of Gaoth Dobhair’s semi-final clash with Corofin at Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada in Carrick-on-Shannon (throw-in 1.30pm).

Gaoth Dobhair are in their first ever All-Ireland semi-final, following their winning of a dramatic Ulster final against Scotstown in December.

Deegan will be in the middle for Saturday’s big game as Mervyn O’Donnell’s Gaoth Dobhair go in search of a place in the St Patrick’s Day final at Croke Park.

Deegan has refereed three All-Ireland finals, including the 2012 decider when a Donegal side including Gaoth Dobhair duo Neil McGee and Eamon McGee defeated Mayo. The Stradbally man also refereed the 2008 final and the 2016 final replay.

Tyrone’s Sean Hurson will be in charge of the Dr Crokes v Mullinalaghta semi, which takes place in Thursday at 3.30pm.
