Safety works for dangerous junction at national school

Safety works on a dangerous junction at a Donegal national school will begin in the ‘coming months’.

The Council has confirmed that safety works for the junction at Glenmaquin NS are currently being designed.

“It is anticipated that the works should commence in the coming months.”

€30,000 has been granted under the ‘Safety Improvement Works’ grants.

The full extent of the works will be known following the completion of the design process.

Councillor Gerry McMonagle raised the question to this month’s meeting of the Letterkenny Municipal District.

It was back in July 2017 that Councillor James Pat McDaid warned a LMD meeting that it was ‘only a matter of time before there is a fatality’ at the junction.
