Breaking: Traffic tailbacks after elderly pedestrian is knocked down

Emergency services are at the scene of an accident in Letterkenny this afternoon after a pensioner was knocked down.

An elderly woman was reportedly hit by a car at the junction between Lower Main Street and Convent Road.

The extent of the injuries is not yet known.

Heavy traffic tailbacks are reported in the area as Gardaí remain at the scene.
