Cllr Patrick McGowan has welcomed the significant progress in relation to Dromore Park’s sewerage treatment in Killygordon.

€30,000 has been granted to Donegal County Council with the funding stream is expected this month.

Cllr McGowan said: “After many years, I am delighted and relieved with the news that the agreed resolution plan for Dromore Park is to locate a new foul PS within the confines of the estate’s open space area.

“It will have additional capacity to serve the Dromore National School, negating the need for the school to provide it own foul PS and separate rising main.

“A rising main will be constructed from the Dromore Park location to the existing foul network in Killygordon.

“Senior council officials have met Mrs McGranaghan (School Principal) and the school’s architect Mr Treacy to discuss the Council’s proposed resolution plan and there is broad agreement between the parties.

“In particular, I wish to thank Mary McGranaghan principal of Dromore NS. Mary had the interest of not just the school but the wider community at all times in the negotiations with the Council.

“I am delighted that we have a definite plan now to work with.”
