Sinn Féin so hungry to win third seat, packed election campaign convention told

Donegal Sinn Féin Senator, Pádraig Mac Lochlainn, has said his party’s packed Inishowen convention in the Point Inn, Quigley’s Point is indicative of the local memberships’ appetite to win a third county council seat in the peninsula.

The party members present selected sitting councillors Albert Doherty, Jack Murray and Terry Crossan from Aught, Muff to contest the local elections on May 24th next.

Speaking afterwards, Senator Mac Lochlainn said, “Five years ago, we came extremely close to winning three council seats in Inishowen – missing out by just 90 votes.

“Since then, our party has put in a huge amount of work and we are ready to go back to the polls.

“Our membership is up for this election and we’ll be on the ground in every community in this peninsula asking people to trust us with their vote.

“We have three superb candidates in Jack Murray, Albert Doherty and Terry Crossan who will continue to deliver on local issues while also campaigning for a fair and just Ireland, and one which no longer ignores Inishowen and the northwest of Ireland.

“I’m looking forward to getting out on the campaign trail as part of an energised and ambitious Sinn Féin team.”
