The Sean MacCumhaills GAA club is hosting a Community Health, Wellbeing and Youth Forum on Saturday.

The event takes place from 11am-3pm in the Villa Rose Hotel – and admission is free.

This is an event not to be missed showcasing in excess of 40 exhibitors to support young and old with all the information, advice and practical support you will need to stay healthy, active and well in their mind, body and soul this year.

This is a great opportunity for our Community to enjoy a showcase of exhibitors with something for everyone, young and old from Physical Activity, Mindfulness and Mental Health, Financial Wellbeing and much more.

The event will also host live Demos in exercise, fitness, dance, meditation and mindfulness giving you an opportunity to come and join our try out tasters and participate in interactive workshops allowing you to discover something new and to see what our Community has to offer people of every age.

There will be a kid’s corner and an array of clubs and societies in attendance who cater for kids from 6 upwards and ensure that our kids are active and healthy from an early age.

Raising awareness of mental health issues & low personal Well Being and self-esteem should be the start of the process of tackling them, not the end.
It’s important to be aware of something that affects literally everyone and as a Community support each other to continue to raise awareness and ensure our Community understand the resources available to everyone, right on our doorsteps.

We are delighted as part of the event that Jigsaw will be giving a workshop to parents/guardians and other adults interested or concerned about Young People’s Mental Health. This continues the club’s excellent relationship with Jigsaw over the years and we’re delighted to have them once more.

We are pleased to have the RSA involved on the day with “The Shuttle” on site which is a mobile interactive unit and its main objective is to provide the general public and other target audiences with the chance to interact with various road safety campaigns and to spread the message about the importance of road safety.

You can test your driving skills and reaction time on the car simulators and break reaction timer. Cyclists can brush up on rules of the road in a surround screen simulator, whilst the motorcycle simulator offers insight into what the road looks like from a biker’s perspective.

The Road Safety Educators are a team of qualified teachers who accompany the shuttle at all events. They will lead the sessions and introduce participants to the experience and learning objectives. They will be on hand throughout the session to discuss all aspects of road safety and address any queries attendees may have. The Roll Over simulator is fitted to a hydraulic platform which can simulate a 90 degree and 180 degree roll-over.

A timetable of events on the day is below along with a list of the various groups who have confirmed their attendance, there is something for everyone so come along and join us.
