5,208 people in the Gaoth Dobhair area were affected by an electricity outage due to a fault on Wednesday night.

Areas affected in west Donegal include Falcarragh and Gotahork.

The Electricity Supply Board (ESB) currently had to send crews to fix the issue, with the interruption solved shortly after 1am on Thursday morning.

ESB said: “We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible.”
