Listen: Listen: Goalscorer Róisín Friel back ‘in the right place at right time’

Róisín Friel made a return to the Donegal ladies line-up yesterday as Maxi Curran’s team kept up their perfect start to the campaign.

The Termon woman scored 1-1, including an early goal as Donegal won 2-17 to 0-7.

“I was in the right place at the right time,” Friel told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“Thankfully Geraldine (McLaughlin) saw me making the run. I’m lucky to have someone like her on the field to lay it off.”

The win, following previous successes against Dublin and Mayo, means Donegal are three-from-three.

Friel said: “We’re delighted with the win. The girls put in big work.

“Monaghan were a bogey team in the past. They’ve been the top of Ulster for a long time. We know what they’re like so it was good to go out and get a performance.”
