Boxing – All the action from Carndonagh, Dunfanaghy shows

There was standing room only as Carndonagh ABC and Dunfanaghy ABC held club tournaments over the last week.

In the Ozanam Centre on Sunday evening, Dunfanaghy put on a cracking show with 13 bouts down for decision.

Dunfanaghy’s two-time Irish champion Bernie McDonagh overcame Shay Neeson from Moneyglass on a unanimous decision.

Sean Kelly, another former Irish champion from the Dunfanaghy club, defeated Clonmany’s Adam McDaid, while Kelly’s young brother, Luke, recorded a debut win, beating Coran Kearney of Clonmany.

Paul Darby of Raphoe edged Dunfanaghy’s Anton Brady, while Illies Golden Gloves’ Oran Shields had the measure of Dungloe’s Danny Boyle.

CARNDONAGH hosted a 16-fight card in the Carndonagh ABC clubhouse on Friday night.

In the fight of the night, Carndonagh’s Conor Horan defeated Conor Friel of Raphoe ABC on a split decision at 70kgs.

Raphoe’s former Irish champion Cody Lafferty defeated Rathfriland’s Georgia Lavery, while Molly Simmons of Carn made a winning return to the ring as she powered to a win over Morgan McNutt.
