Ronan Curtis is looking forward to his first trip to Wembley – after firing Portsmouth to the Checkatrade Trophy final.
Curtis bagged the third goal last night at Gigg Lane as Pompey scored a 3-0 semi-final win over Bury.
“I’ve never been to Wembley before and to achieve that in my first year as a League One player is amazing,” Curtis said.
“The boys played with plenty of confidence and it was nice to keep a clean sheet – we’re over the moon with the result.
“I’ve never been to Wembley before and to achieve that in my first year as a League One player is amazing.
“It’s something that we’re really looking forward and hopefully we turn up on the day and produce a good performance.”
Curtis netted after earlier strikes by Gareth Evans and Oli Hawkins.
The St Johnston man has had a super first season with Portsmouth since moving from Derry City.
He said: “We’re fourth in the table and the team finished eighth last season. We’re in the play-offs at the moment and looking to catch the sides above us.
“We’re unbeaten in five games now and so we’re looking to start winning again in the league. We know what we have to do.”
