Leo McLoone felt right at home as Donegal’s centre-back last night – and felt it was no coincidence that he delivered his best performance in some time.

McLoone, in for his first start of 2019, was excellent as Donegal defeated Armagh 1-9 to 0-11 in Ballybofey.

The Glenties man, making his 101st appearance for the county, led the way alongside the inspirational Michael Murphy as Donegal got back to winning ways again.

“It was nice to be in at six and playing in there, dropping back,” McLoone told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub afterwards.

“It was good to be in there and seeing the play ahead of me. I enjoyed it.”
