Donegal’s Muff was in the spotlight on UK radio today when BBC crews arrived for a laughter-filled trip through the village.
The name of Muff first sparked giggles on BBC Radio 1 in January when DJs Scott Mills and Chris Stark got wind of the Muff Liquor Company.
The hosts were so amused by the cheeky business name that they made sure to add Muff to the route of their ‘Lolathon’ expedition for Red Nose Day.
Chris Stark had a great time in Donegal this morning meeting the Inishowen village’s famous residents.
He took amusing photos with the village signpost and sought out the funniest-named local places.
The Mayor of Muff Niamh McColgan even got to bestow her mayoral chain on the presenter!
Chris’ adventures included taking a trip to Tank & Skinny’s cafe, getting suited up with the Muff Diving Club and having a giggle at the Muff Barbers.
All the while, Chris has been collecting jokes for his ‘Book of LOL’ to read out during a 24-hour LOL-a-thon in aid of Comic Relief.
The people of Muff are well-used to jokes over their town name, so the punchlines were in full flow this morning.
