Donegal singer Ailish McBride is about to face her biggest battle yet this week in TG4’s Glór Tíre.

The talented young Creeslough woman has wowed her way through tough elimination rounds to reach the semi-final of the county music competition this Tuesday.

Ailish shared her excitement with fans last week, telling them she was ‘on cloud nine’:

“Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me over the past week to get me through to the SEMI-FINALS of Glór Tíre ar TG4!! Can’t believe it!

“Next Tuesday is Irish Week and myself and fellow contestants will be singing a song as Gaeilge which will be fun.”

Only four contestants remain in the battle to make it into the final. They will perform live from the Quays in Galway for the last elimination round this Tuesday, 19th March at 9.30pm.

Based on the public vote the top two contestants will be safe and perform again in the final. The two contestants will the lowest votes will perform in a sing-off, with the judges saving one and sending the other contestant home.

Singing under the mentorship of Monaghan country star Ciaran Rosney, Ailish has had huge levels of support from friends and family in Donegal.

Her future in the competition relies on public votes, so she is calling on everyone to help secure her place in the final.
