The work of an aspiring young artist has caught the eye of judges in this year’s Texaco Children’s Art Competition.
The adjudication process is well underway in the national art competition and one Letterkenny student seems to have impressed already.
Competition judge Denise Ferran (above) was recently pictured with an entry by 17-year old Laura Foy, from Loreto Secondary School, Letterkenny, entitled ‘You Did Well, Portrait Of Kim Jonghyun’.
It is not yet known if Laura’s work is in the final, but her eye-catching graphic is one of hundreds of entries showing promise this year. Some 447 students from the county are amongst those from all parts of Ireland who are taking part in the Competition – the 65th year of the event.
There is much anticipation ahead of the announcements of finalists in mid-April. Prizes will be presented at a ceremony in May.
