Coláiste Ailigh’s u15 girls soccer team reached their first ever All-Ireland soccer final today following a hard fought semi-final victory over St Patrick’s College, Lacken Cross, Co Mayo.

The Coláiste Ailigh girls went behind twice. Having gone 1-0 down it took a sublime effort from Erin Ní Dhochartaigh to level things up.

Lacken Cross went two-one up and with five minutes to go it wasn’t looking good for the Letterkenny girls until up popped Aobha Ní Aragáin to score a great equaliser and bring the game to extra-time.

Coláiste Ailigh dominated the final stages of the game and team captain, Clodagh Ní Shioráin scored winner to qualify her team for the all-Ireland stage.

The match was played in the Ray MacSharry Park, Sligo.

The All-Ireland final will be played on April 4th against as yet unknown opponents. Team manager Keith Ó Comhain expressed satisfaction with the tremendous spirit shown by the girls throughout the game.
